In each cottage you will find:

Bedrooms
All bedding (except cot); full set of towels; box of recycled tissues; and a hairdryer in all double bedrooms.

Bathrooms
Recycled toilet paper; eco-friendly hand wash; hand towel; plus a bath mat in The Mill.

Kitchen
Cooker with extractor hood; dishwasher; fridge with freezer compartment (fridge-freezer in The Mill); microwave (with combination oven in The Grain Store); good selection of pots, pans, bakeware, cooking utensils and knives, crockery, glasses and cutlery; oven gloves, hand towel, tea towel, dishcloth and scourer; eco-friendly hand wash, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets, recycled paper kitchen towel, foil, sea salt and pepper grinders, plus extra virgin olive and locally produced Highland Rapeseed oil for cooking.

Lounge
Log basket with locally sourced logs and kindling, natural firelighters and matches – extra logs and kindling are freely available; maps, guides/leaflets of places to discover locally; a selection of books/magazines and playing cards; plus a welcome basket - a tasty selection of locally produced goodies.

Utility Store
Vacuum cleaner; mop and bucket; dustpan and brush; eco-friendly toilet cleaner; extra supply of toilet rolls; feminine hygiene bags; eco-friendly multi-surface cleaner and cleaning cloth.

The Laundry
9kg Bosch washing machine; eco-friendly washing powder, liquids and fabric conditioner; 9kg sensor-dry tumble dryer; fridge and freezer for extra cool or frozen storage; ironing board and iron; pegs for hanging on outside clothes line; portable clothes airer; heated drying room with dehumidifier.

Cycle Store
There are two secure, lockable cycle/sports equipment stores for guest use.

Local Shopping and Supermarket Deliveries

We have produced a list of local shops for those of you who wish to support the local economy and enjoy some of the locally produced products available during your stay. Click here for further details.

In addition, Tesco, ASDA and Morrisons will deliver to Balneden Steading. We are happy to accept a delivery for you if you are unable to arrive before its arrival: please just let us know in advance.
