Skiing
The Lecht is 10 minutes drive away, and has had superb seasons in the last 3 years. Visit www.lecht.co.uk to read about what is on offer – but this friendly centre caters for novice skiers and snowboarders as well as experts, who tend to love the more difficult runs. Equipment is available for hire, and we can recommend tubing for the kids – who wouldn’t love sliding down a giant hill in a massive inner-tube? The food on offer in the restaurant is good and also reasonably priced.
A little further afield is the Ski area at Cairngorm Mountain www.cairngormmountain.co.uk which is around 40 minutes drive. This resort has had some of the best skiing in the whole of Europe in the last 2 years, and was still selling ski permits at the end of May!
